The “Spelunker” achievement requires players to explore all the caves in The Forest. There are 10 caves that the player must fully explore to unlock this achievement.
The 10 caves that players must explore are:
- Dead Cave
- Hanging Cave
- Wet Cave
- Baby Cave (“Keep Exploring Hanging Cave” in Survival Book)
- Submerged Cave
- Lawyers Cave
- Chasm Cave
- Sinkhole Cave
- Ledge Cave
- Waterfall Cave
Players can check if they have fully explored a cave if its name is crossed out in the Survival Book To Do list. In some cases, players may have to walk along the sides of the cave to reveal them on the map and fully explore it.
It is important to note that exploring most of the caves will require specific tools, such as the climbing axe, rebreather, and explosives. These items are found in various caves and players must explore certain areas first before they can progress.
Tools Location
Climbing Axe
The climbing axe is located in Cave 9 or Ledge Cave.
Rebreather
The rebreather is located in Cave 5 or Submerged Cave.
Explosives/Dynamites
Players can craft explosives. Dynamites spawn in various caves and inside cannibal villages.
Acquiring the Map
Players can acquire a map in the Hanging Cave which is useful for navigating the dark caves. Acquiring the map does not require any tools and it would be beneficial to get it early.
